The World’s first 802.11b/g RF transceiver with embedded PA

The AL2230S is the world's first and most integrated IEEE 802.11b/g WLAN solution with embedded PA and has become the preferred 802.11b/g solution for leading wireless LAN equipment vendors and module makers.

Implementing Airoha's high-integrated technology, most RF components like Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), Voltage Control Oscillator (VCO), base-band filters, even Power Amplifier (PA) have all been integrated into a single chip. Few competitors also claimed to have integrated PA into their transceiver, but the truth is their output power is so low that it still needs an external PA when used in production.

With the advanced Direct Conversion (so-called Zero IF) architecture, the AL2230S can further eliminate the need for IF components to provide the lowest component counts (50% less than competitors), the smallest RF solution area and the lowest BOM cost (could save more than $2 USD than competitors), while keeping very low power consumption. It's the most ideal solution for users to make the small form factor, low power and price competitive for WLAN products.
