The AH2050 brings a new level of integration and cost competitiveness to the PHS market by implementing receiver, transmitter, and synthesizer functionality as well as an integrated 22dBm power amplifier and fast pll design for seamless hand over.
The AH2050 is the world's most integrated PHS RF transceiver, which embeds most of the RF components like Power Amplifier (PA), Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), fast Phase Lock Loop (PLL), Voltage Control Oscillator (VCXO) … etc. With the highly integrated circuit, AH2050 needs only 1/7 the component counts and about 1/6 the BOM cost compared with existing RF solutions.
With the advanced low-IF receiver architecture, external IF filters can be removed. Additionally, two IF frequency, 1.2MHz and 10.8MHz are provided and switchable. A Receiver signal strength indicator (RSSI) enables the further processing of the input signals for the base-band circuit.
By implementing the transmitter with a direct up conversion architecture, the noise and interference rejection can be optimized. The output power could be adjusted through TXAGC voltage control pin and the the maximum output power of PA could be as high as 22dBm.
A fractional-N synthesizer is implemented in AH2050. By embedding the temperature-compensated Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator (TC-VCXO), the users can use a low cost crystal instead of an expensive TCXO.
